think there is a mismatch with the documentation and the actual limit for max audio files in a single request. in the docs it says "Maximum number of audio files per prompt: 1" (https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/generative-ai/docs/models/gemini/2-5-pro). but in practice, even >10 audio files are processed ok. on the other hand, the video limit of 10, mentioned in the docs, is accurate in testing.
so, what is the actual max number of files for audio files in a single request?
