Updating an event with attendees when you're not the organizer returns successfully but doesn't change the event

Hi,
I'm using the Calendar API to try to do the equivalent of deleting "this and following events" from a recurring event with attendees.
To do that, I update the recurrence rule of event series to add or update the UNTIL value to the date before the events that needs to be deleted.
For example, if the event recurs every Tuesday and Friday and never expires and we want to delete the events from June 24th and beyond then we would update the the recurrence rule from: `RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=TU,FR;WKST=SU` to `RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=TU,FR;WKST=SU;UNTIL=20220623T035959Z`

Using `googleapis.calendar(...).events.update(...)` works if the users if the organizer but returns the original event data if the user is an attendee.

I've tried using the patch method instead but it's the same issue:
`googleapis.calendar(...).events.patch({recurrence: 'RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=TU,FR;WKST=SU;UNTIL=20220623T035959Z'})`

I've also been able to reproduce this from the API doc page for patch when trying to change the recurrence or the summary or the end date: https://developers.google.com/calendar/api/v3/reference/events/patch

I've also tried setting `privateCopy` to true but it made no difference.

No error message is returned so I have no idea why this doe

This works as expected if the user is the meeting organizer but seems to have no effect if the user is just an attendee.

Is this the proper way to replicate the **delete of "this and following events"** for an event attendee?
If this is a known issue, what's the workaround to be able to perform this operation?

Start with the Calendar API events.update and events.patch calls described in the issue, then compare their behavior for organizers and attendees using the supplied recurrence rule. Done means establishing whether attendee updates are supported and identifying a documented workaround or the relevant API limitation; no repository file or test is named.
