Description

Adding repos seems straightforward, and then it shows as a project. But the "New document" button seems to show the "add project" window again, which shows the repo I already have (and others).

I'd expect the `pencil` icon on the project itself to have a tooltip to indicate what it is for, I expect it to create a new document for the project?

Image

I clicked it, saw nothing happening, and then clicked again, to get a new document going.

Could be improved.

Research direction

Reproduce the setup flow described in the issue: add a repository, view it as a project, and try the "New document" button and the project's pencil icon. Trace the UI entry points for those controls, then make their purpose and resulting action unambiguous, including a tooltip where appropriate; done means a new document can be started without reopening the project picker.
