Research direction
Start by reproducing the clipboard sequence in the terminal: copy text with the context menu, copy text in another application, then observe the status line and prompt while selecting text. Trace the terminal's clipboard handling and status-line rendering from the observed behavior. Done means the clipboard message no longer breaks the layout or causes the prompt to jump or duplicate.
