Description
Neither Copilot App nor GitHub Desktop offers an issues view or a branches/PRs view, even though both have been available on github.com for years. A read-only panel showing open issues and PR status (checks, reviews, mergeability) would remove the need to tab out to the browser for the most common checks, and would close a long-standing gap with the web experience.

Research direction
No source files, tests, or entry points are mentioned. Start by locating the Copilot App and GitHub Desktop repository views, then determine how a read-only issues and branches/PRs panel would cover open issues, checks, reviews, and mergeability. Done means both requested views work without requiring a browser tab.
