Any way to access more information as it's thinking?

Any way to access more information as it's thinking? I see the squares animation but can't click on it when it's "thinking" or doing a task. Is there any way to peek into what it's sending or waiting on so I can exit early if I catch it going off the wagon?

Start at the /chat path and reproduce a task while the squares animation is shown. Clarify which progress or request details should be exposed and how early exit should work; the issue is done when users can inspect the requested information and stop an in-progress task reliably.
