App won't open after being closed

After closing the app (using the X button), the app will refuse to open for several minutes and many attempts of opening the app. Clicking the icon does nothing. Task manager shows some GHCP app processes, and even after ending those it still won't open for several more attempts. I've especially noticed it after a session becomes unresponsive (which is often), but that's the main time that I close the app.
