if I have a new draft session with a prompt filled out but not submitted, when the app is closed to updates the draft session is lost.

Start by reproducing the report on Windows with a new session containing an unsubmitted prompt, then trace how draft sessions are saved when the app closes for an update. Done means the unsubmitted prompt and draft session are still present after the update and can be resumed.
