Feature Request: Better Model Identification for BYOK Providers
I'd like to suggest an improvement to the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model selection experience.
When using models from different providers through BYOK, all of them are currently labeled as "Custom" in the model picker. This makes it difficult to distinguish which provider a model belongs to, especially when multiple providers offer models with similar names.
At the moment, the provider or group name only becomes visible after selecting the model, which requires extra clicks and can be confusing.
It would be very helpful if the model selector could display additional information directly in the list, such as:
Provider name (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, etc.)
User-defined group name
Custom tags or labels
Provider icons or badges
This would make model selection much faster and reduce the risk of accidentally choosing the wrong model when multiple BYOK providers are configured.
Thank you for considering this improvement.

Research direction
Start at the /chat model selector and trace how BYOK models are represented and displayed in the picker. Compare the available provider, group, tag, and icon information, then define a consistent visible identifier that distinguishes configured providers without requiring selection. Done means users can reliably tell similar BYOK models apart before choosing one.
