I currently use GitHub Copilot Hooks in VS Code and the GitHub Copilot CLI, and I would like to see the same capability supported in the GitHub Copilot app. Besides hook support itself, visibility into hook execution is important. Without this visibility, hook execution feels like a black box, making it harder to debug issues and see what the hook outputs.
The app should clearly show:
- which hook was triggered
- when it was triggered
- why or how it was triggered
- whether it succeeded or failed
- the output or logs produced by the hook
A dedicated hooks view, structured logs, or clearer output in the chat window would make using GitHub Copilot Hooks much easier. Maybe a clickable hook event could be shown in the chat window, which then shows the details of the hook.
