The current default value for "Where to run this session" is "New worktree". 99.9% of the time, I want to be able to see and test the changes locally that Copilot is making. I have Visual Studio (backend), VS Code (frontend) opend to my working copy. I always have to rememeber to change from "New worktree" to "Local Repository". The only reason I can see "New worktree" as a good default is if you are going to have multiple agents working at the same time or you are vibe coding and accept whatever Copilot is giving you. Even if you are hard core TDD and relay on tests, I would still want to verify frontend changes. Could you please add a way to change the default? That way I can select "Local repository" once and all future sessions would start that way?

Research direction

Start in the /chat path and reproduce the session setup using the reported app version and Windows environment. Trace where “New worktree” and “Local repository” are selected, then add a persistent way to choose the default. Done means a saved choice is used for future sessions and the existing session options still work.
