[General] merge status out of sync

When a session completes a merge and deployment and there is an issue, I often will share the details of the error, or bad experience in the same session. This feels right because that session has all the necessary context. However, it leaves the UX a bit confusing.

While the agent is working on a new PR/merge the indicator on the session shows merged. I'm not sure what the best way is to do this, but I think I'd like to see the session status change back to a pre-merged state.

Start at the /chat session view and reproduce the state after a merge and deployment, followed by new PR or merge work in the same session. Trace how the session status indicator is updated, then make the done state consistently show a pre-merged status while new work is active.
