Description

I really need help with this! I created a personal access token after August 13th when password authentication became deprecated. The personal access token is not registered as valid when I enter it in the password prompt on Windows Linux Subsystem terminal when trying to push changes to a repo. I get the error message "remote: Invalid username or password". My entered username is correct. I do not know how to resolve this problem after searching online. Is there an explanation for this?

Research direction

No repository file, test, or entry point is mentioned. Begin by reproducing the GitHub Personal Access Token authentication failure from a Windows Linux Subsystem terminal and verify whether this project handles that authentication path; done means identifying a project-specific cause or documenting that the issue is outside the repository.
