Not all options pass via command

Apparently, there is an issue when passing options via command line.

Start by reproducing the command-line invocation described in the issue and compare which options are accepted with which are ignored. Done means all supported options passed through the command are handled correctly; the issue names no files or tests, so further entry points must be located during investigation.
