vscode fails when trying to open file or folder

I've installed the snap version of code insiders on opensuse Tumbleweed. code dies when trying to open a file or folder. It also dies when trying to open help | about. I see that this error has been addressed in the past and handled and closed, but I'm getting the error now with a fresh install. This also happens when I disable extensions. Thank you.

Here is the output of code --verbose (I don't have /usr/lib/x86_64 and the command gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders doesn't exist.)
