Freezes/poor performance on Framework 12

## STR

Open Clapper playing video (from filemanager in my case).

What happens: It totally freezes the whole desktop.
What should happen: No freeze, Firefox or so can play videos (/the same video) without problems.

No source files or tests are named. Start by reproducing the file-manager video playback path on the reported Framework 12 environment, then compare the behavior with Firefox and use the listed GLib, GTK, Adwaita, GStreamer, and Flatpak versions to narrow the cause. Done means playback no longer freezes the desktop.
