Reproduce the report in a Python 3.8 virtual environment by running transcrypt -r -c autotest from the automated-tests Transcrypt entry point. Compare the result with Python 3.7.5, where the report says it works, and trace the dashed_numbers NameError; done means the autotest command runs without that error.

New user... just installed Python 3.8.0 for the purpose of installing Transcrypt.
Working in a virtual environment.
Followed the instructions on the first page https://www.transcrypt.org/docs/html/installation_use.html. Got this:

(test_venv380) mike@M17A ~/python_venvs/test_venv380/lib/python3.8/site-packages/transcrypt/development/automated_tests/transcrypt $  transcrypt -r -c autotest

Error: cannot run autotest using CPython: name 'dashed_numbers' is not defined

This seems to stop me doing these autotests. Presume at the current point that this is not that important. Not clear where "dashed_numbers" comes from: is it a Transcrypt module?

Is this a Python 3.8 issue perhaps?

I installed Python 3.7.5, set up a virtual env.

Things worked... no complaint about "dashed_numbers".
