Start with create-repos.sh and reproduce the reported command, OUTPUT_DIR=. ./create-repos.sh, on macOS after installing wget and gh. Follow the repository-creation and cloning steps around the fatal "couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/master" error; done means the script creates and clones the expected repositories without this failure.
