Expose rust crate?

Hi there, great project!

I have a use case where I would like to build WASM components from user submitted source on a server. My thinking being the code used to power the CLI could also be exposed as a crate. Is this something you'd accept a patch for? or am I barking up the wrong tree and there is a better approach?

Start by reviewing the existing CLI implementation and how it produces WebAssembly components. The issue does not name files or tests; the scope would need an agreed crate API and packaging approach, with completion defined by maintainers before implementation can begin.
