[meta-issue] waiting on napari

A place to track where we are waiting on changes in napari
- ability to add group layers (see lower left corner of image in #1)
- ability to add custom viewer tooltips (see #85 )
- ability to add callbacks to layer deletion (should be possible via https://github.com/napari/napari/pull/5967, but not in a stable release at time of writing) so we can reset hacky tooltips (may not be needed if we get custom viewer tooltips earlier) - see #88

No repository files or tests are named. Review the dependency list in this issue, including napari issues #1, #85 and #88 and pull request #5967, then check whether the required upstream capabilities are available in a stable release. This is done when the pending napari changes no longer block the plugin work or the tracking requirements are updated.
