### Possible improvements list:
- [ ] 1. Create API similar to `convolve_1d`
- [ ] 2. Allow all types of boundary options available
- [ ] 3. Derive correlate function from `convolve_2d` or vice versa
- [ ] 4. Check if performance improvements can be done by using implemented numeric algorithms
