Solidworks Tree Renaming Creating Ghost File

Renamed a Solidworks assembly from the tree and saved it with a new name, also checking the box to update references where used. This created a new local file that I need to check in and left a ghost version of the existing file that I could not delete from local and does not exist on the server.
