Obsolete now that you can call startAutomationExecution directly from Step Functions?

Hi and thank you for this repo and examples!

I'm wondering if this repo is maybe obsolete in that you no longer need Lambda functions to call AWS SDK APIs like EC2 runInstances and SSM send_command?

I'm also looking at this AWS prescriptive guidance article about running SSM automation synchronously from Step Functions which I think may supercede the example in this repo?
