Graphics window unresponsive

The very first drawing does actually open a graphics window and also neatly draws the intended figure but then becomes unresponsive.

Start by reproducing the first drawing described in the issue and observe when the graphics window becomes unresponsive. Inspect the tutorial's first drawing entry point and determine whether the window stays responsive after the figure is rendered. Done means the intended figure still appears and the graphics window remains usable.
