Host static site with github pages

You should just host the html dir as a static site with github pages instead of making people clone the repo.

It should be a simple settings change in the Github repo settings: https://docs.github.com/en/pages/getting-started-with-github-pages/configuring-a-publishing-source-for-your-github-pages-site#publishing-from-a-branch

Edit: you may need to rename the "html" dir to "docs", the settings only accept that or the root as valid paths

Start with the repository Settings and the linked GitHub Pages documentation. Configure Pages to publish the html directory; if the settings only allow the repository root or docs, rename html to docs first. Done means the HTML site is publicly accessible through the repository’s GitHub Pages URL.
