### What's Wrong?
After updating Claude Code (desktop app), I'm seeing the error banner "No se puede llegar a MY-DESKTOP" ("Cannot reach MY-DESKTOP") directly above the chat input box.
MY-DESKTOP is the Windows hostname of the machine I'm currently using to run Claude Code — it is not a different/remote device. The app's own Settings only lists this device as "Claude Desktop" (no separate "MY-DESKTOP" entry to remove or rename), so this looks like an internal mismatch between the app's device label and the machine's actual network hostname, likely left over from how the update handled device/session registration.
Steps already taken (none resolved it):
Fully quit the app (verified no lingering claude/Claude.exe processes in Task Manager) and relaunched
Rebooted the PC entirely
Checked Settings for a Remote Control / connected-devices list to remove/rename "MY-DESKTOP" — no such entry exists there
Confirmed NOT a local networking issue:
Resolve-DnsName MY-DESKTOP resolves correctly to the local machine's IP
ping MY-DESKTOP succeeds
No conflicting entries in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Environment:
Claude Code version: 2.1.270 (a running process was still on 2.1.266 shortly after the update, suggesting the update may not have fully replaced all running instances)
OS: Windows 11 Home 10.0.26200
Issue began immediately after updating Claude Code
### What Should Happen?
Expected behavior: No "cannot reach" banner should appear for the device the app is currently running on. Session should connect.
### Error Messages/Logs
```shell
```
### Steps to Reproduce
Have Claude Code (desktop app) installed and running on a Windows PC, signed in normally.
Let the app auto-update (or manually update) to a new version.
Reopen/continue a chat session.
Observe the banner "No se puede llegar a MAX-DESKTOP" appear directly above the chat input box, where "MAX-DESKTOP" is this PC's own Windows hostname — not a different or remote device.
