Two official pages make opposite claims about the same extension.

### What's Wrong or Missing?

The two pages contradict each other. The Help Center note is wrong for Claude Code users and is the page a new user reads first, so it steers Edge users away from a feature that works.

Verified 2026-08-30 on Windows 11 with the extension installed in Microsoft Edge from the Chrome Web Store: /chrome reports Status: Enabled / Extension: Installed, and Claude Code's browser tools navigate tabs, read page text, and take screenshots in Edge.

Two smaller gaps on the same pages:

1. The Help Center's pinning step says "clicking the puzzle piece icon". Edge's Extensions button is a different icon, so the instruction does not match what an Edge user sees.

2. After a fresh install the extension did not connect to Claude Code until its side panel had been opened once. Until then /chrome showed Enabled / Installed but "Select browser…" listed nothing and browser tools returned "Browser extension is not connected", with the native messaging host registration in place. Opening the panel fixed it with no restart. Troubleshooting does not mention this step.

### Suggested Improvement

1. Help Center, "Install Claude in Chrome": remove "Claude in Chrome is not supported on other Chromium-based web browsers", or scope it to the side-panel product and add: "For Claude Code and Cowork, the extension also works in Microsoft Edge and other Chromium-based browsers — see Use Claude Code with Chrome."

2. Help Center, pinning step: replace "clicking the puzzle piece icon" with "clicking the Extensions button in the toolbar" so it holds for Edge and other Chromium browsers.

3. Claude Code docs, Troubleshooting → "Extension not detected": add "Open the extension's side panel once after installing; it does not initialize its Claude Code connection until it has been opened."

### Additional Context

Environment: Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200, Microsoft Edge, Claude in Chrome extension 1.0.85, Claude Code 2.1.251 (native), Max plan.

One note for the Windows Troubleshooting section: launching the native host by hand while a Claude Code session is running logs "listen EADDRINUSE" on the bridge pipe. That is expected — the running session already owns the pipe — and was not the cause of the connection failure above. The current text presents EADDRINUSE as a conflict to fix by restarting.
