[BUG] claude install crashes with abort() on Bun 1.4.0

### What's Wrong?

Version: 2.1.241, Linux x64, glibc 2.34
Reproduced on two separate machines (Eddie HPC login node + Cowork cloud session)
CPU has full avx/avx2/avx512 support - not a CPU compatibility issue
Ruled out: network, VPN, disk quota, stale install directories
Worked fine for months, started failing after Aug 24 morning update

### What Should Happen?

Running `claude install` (or connecting Claude Desktop to a remote host via SSH) should download and install the Claude CLI successfully on the remote machine without crashing.

### Steps to Reproduce

1. Connect Claude Desktop to a remote host via SSH (in my case, a university HPC cluster login node)
2. Desktop attempts to install the Claude CLI on the remote machine
3. Install fails with: "Couldn't install the Claude CLI on the remote: the installer produced no result [NO_INSTALL_RESULT]"
4. Ran the installer manually on the remote machine to see the real error:
curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
5. This crashes with:
panic(main thread): abort() called
oh no: Bun has crashed. This indicates a bug in Bun, not your code.
bash: line 183: [pid] Aborted (core dumped) "$binary_path" install
Installation was killed before it could finish (exit code 134).

Ruled out as causes: network connectivity to downloads.claude.ai (confirmed reachable, HTTP 200), disk quota (68% used, not full), CPU compatibility (confirmed avx/avx2/avx512 all supported), stale ~/.claude/remote install directory (removed, no change).

This worked reliably for months and started failing today (Aug 24, 2026) immediately after a Claude Desktop app update this morning (app version 1.34493.1, build 2026-08-21). Also independently reproduced the same "panic(main thread): abort() called" Bun 1.4.0 crash signature in an unrelated Cowork cloud session earlier the same day, suggesting this is a broader regression in the bundled Bun 1.4.0 runtime / claude-code 2.1.241 build rather than something specific to my machine or network.

Start by reproducing `curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash` on Linux x64 with Bun 1.4.0 and review the linked Bun crash report. Compare this with the remote `claude install` flow and the reported Claude Code 2.1.241 build. Done means the CLI installs successfully on the remote host without aborting or returning `NO_INSTALL_RESULT`.
