Descrizione

### MCP server URL or name

Dropbox

### How are you connecting to this server?

From browsing the MCP server directory

### Where does the issue occur?

When auth finishes and redirects back to Claude.ai

### When did you last reproduce this?

August 4, 2026

### Browser and OS

Chrome — same result in incognito

### Describe the issue

When connecting the Dropbox connector, authorization with Dropbox completes successfully, but immediately after redirecting back to Claude.ai, an error is shown saying Dropbox returned an error when connecting. This happens on every attempt, including after retrying multiple times, in incognito mode, and after disconnecting and reconnecting Claude's access from Dropbox's connected apps settings (dropbox.com/account/connected_apps).

### Error details

```shell
"Your account was authorized, but Dropbox returned an error when connecting. You can try again, or check that the server is working."
Reference IDs seen across multiple attempts:
ofid_82bec54cf4854ef8
ofid_3bbd740042a46d5c
```

### Expected behavior

Dropbox should connect successfully after authorization, as described in Dropbox's own help documentation for connecting to Claude.

### Additional context

Not a Team/Enterprise account, so this isn't an org admin approval issue. This is a personal/individual Claude account trying to connect the standard Dropbox connector from the directory.

No repository file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing the Dropbox authorization flow in Chrome and incognito, using the reported reference IDs, then trace where the redirect failure is handled. Done means identifying the cause and restoring a successful connection for a personal Claude account.
