ipscaner linux closes when open settings

arco linux and some others are having this problem.
ipscan will start then and will scan on newer os's it will not list mac for each ip.
when you click on the right top icon to open the selector. the window doesn't open and ipscan just closes.
if you copy settings from another file, it will then edit that file and work. but no mac's are displayed. just [n/a].
all of my fetchers work except wol mac.
