**Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.**
In several parts of the repo, we have test cases for when `misc_utils.verify_in_list` or `misc_utils.verify_same_elements` control flow statements need to run. These are redundant as both of these functions are already tested in `misc_utils_test.py`.
**Describe the solution you'd like**
Remove these tests.
