ALVR gets stuck on connecting, after app has been backgrounded at least once

Pretty consistently every other time for me. I've noticed that in the console, it says it's shutting down the event thread, and it doesn't seem to get re-started correctly. Maybe we need some kind of watchdog on the connection UI to kick the event thread back online if it's somehow shut down?
