Android Client Demo code is not releasing the camera when exiting

Hi,
I downloaded and installed the demo code for the server and client for android. I am successfully able to initiate and perform a video chat session..however upon exiting the client app... it does not release the camera object. When I try to start the native camera app... it displays that "the camera is unavailable". After I force close the phonertc android client app, I then am able to open the native camera app. Any input or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. The android devices(Samsung Galaxy s5 and Samsung Galaxy 12.2 Note Pro) that I am using have android version 5.0 installed. Thanks.
