Flutter Web is only a fork of Flutter while Flutter Web is in early development. Once the API is stable, the Flutter team will merge them back together, making this project obsolete.
And until such a time when that happens, the Flutter Web API is unstable and incomplete, so people shouldn't be using Flutter Web for production-level apps anyway, making this project redundant.
