Why this name?

I have been having trouble remembering the name of this project. Recalling _«project m-something»_ is not very helpful when searching! Why is it exactly 36? What does _«m»_ stand for? And why the colon? Is the capital Xi part of the name too?

If you can add some hints to the description of the project, surely it will help other people recall the name and hopefully increase your outreach!
