Occlusion and Responsive Cells

I just stumbled across the occlusion option and realised that with responsive cells you can't expand them. They will hide when they hit their breakpoint but you can't expand the row to show them again. Looking at the lt-body.hbs template it's obvious why the expansion doesn't work since it's not in the template, but are these 2 mutually exclusive or will there be plans to add it in in the future?

Start with lt-body.hbs, where the issue reports that row expansion is absent, and trace the occlusion and responsive-cell paths around it. Clarify whether both options should work together and what expanding a hidden cell should show; done means that behavior is explicitly decided and verified.
