discuss testing methods

since the majority of this application is based on information coming from a black box - it significantly limits our ability to test at the unit level.

it _is possible_ though. we could separate unit logic from the commands and test only that.

I think for an application this simple, that's a bit of overkill - but I want to open it up to the team before we put unit testing on the back burner.
