Raspberry Pi vs Beaglebone Black

Looking at the Pi more and I'm not convinced it's got what it takes to be a robot controller. I'm not 100% but dealing with the GPIO pins is a farce and there's only one PWM output (could do software PWM but meh), so we'll probably need a PiBot style breakout/expansion board which is beyond my ability.

The Beaglebone OTOH has 8 PWM ports and 65 digital I/O ports which is a bit more like it. Problem is it's only got one USB port. And no-one has any stock. And the [camera attachment](http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBone_3.1MP_Camera) is really expensive.

Apparently [this adapter](http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006YJAPME) provides bluetooth and WiFi but it's expensive and doesn't solve the camera problem although we'll probably see overall power draw drop.

[This hub](http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BMGP0RE) looks promising because it doesn't need to be attached to a computer to supply power to the ports - useful if that power is supposed to boot the computer itself. Throw in a [battery pack](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9835) and it might just work for an hour or so.
