The latest version of Font Awesome [introduces some feature](https://docs.fontawesome.com/upgrade/whats-changed)s that should reduce the overall page weight of Academic Pages, but it different enough that more in-depth regression testing will be needed.
Related to #3151 since reduced page weight should improve performance and there are fewer dependencies in the font.
