Update tests to use emulator

Instead of mocking so much.

Start by locating the tests and identifying which dependencies are currently mocked. Compare that setup with the available emulator and determine which mocks the issue intends to replace. Done means the relevant tests use the emulator instead of mocking so much, with the test suite still passing.
