scancode.io AppImage: memory errors when running pipelines for multiple projects

The scancode.io AppImage crashes with a memory error message when running the `scan_package` pipeline on these packages:

and the `docker` pipeline on these images:

The error messages that can come up are:
- `malloc(): unaligned tcache chunk detected`
- `double free or corruption (out)`
