Eval and benchmark alternative ahocorasick implementation

If you dabble in C/C++ would building https://github.com/mischasan/aho-corasick and testing this be something you are comfy with? And also testing and evolving https://github.com/syllabs/pyaho to the point we can use it more or less as we use pyyahocorasick? The goal is to benchmark perfs (speed and size).
