Research direction

Start by locating the Symbols view implementation and reading how colors are assigned to library, exported, and other function types. Compare the tooltip and legend options described in the issue, then verify that the chosen indicator identifies each color without obscuring the symbol list.

Description

Component: UI Effort: Trivial Impact: Low UI: Symbols

What is the feature you'd like to have?

In the Symbols view, if there's a indicator that indicate which color is what type of function (library function, exported function, etc), that would be a nice QoL improvement.

Is your feature request related to a problem?

No

Are any alternative solutions acceptable?

A few way I came up with are:

  1. show a tooltip when hovering
  2. add a legend at the top of Symbols view
