Description

PR #20 added a mechanism to automatically handle overflows by computing an approximation of the events that were missed. When multiple overflows happen quickly after each other, it could be useful to debounce the approximation, instead of triggering it for each overflow. First proposed in this comment.

Research direction

Start by reading PR #20 to understand the existing overflow and missed-event approximation mechanism, then review the proposal in the linked PR #26 comment. Trace how repeated overflows trigger the approximation. Done means closely spaced overflows are debounced rather than each triggering a separate approximation.
