Research direction

Locate the unlist.data.table S3 entry point and reproduce the R example with the supplied data.table. Define the single-column behavior so unlist(DT, col="y") produces the shown rows; the handling of multiple columns remains an open design question.

Description

feature request
require(data.table)
DT = data.table(x = 1:3, y=list(1:2, 3:4, 5:7))
#    x     y
#1: 1   1,2
#2: 2   3,4
#3: 3 5,6,7
unlist(DT, col="y")
#    x y
#1: 1 1
#2: 1 2
#3: 2 3
#4: 2 4
#5: 3 5
#6: 3 6
#7: 3 7

col should accept only one value at the moment. Not sure if/how to handle multiple columns yet.
