Research direction

No implementation files or tests are named in the issue. Start by tracing the administrative dashboard and the existing database/filesystem backup paths; define archive format, credential handling, merge/override behavior, and validation criteria before scoping the UI and server changes.

Description

enhancement

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Nah, it's not a problem. The project is already smooth. This feature would just be extra butter.

Describe the solution you'd like
Not sure how feasible it is, but on "settings" tab (or maybe a dedicated "backup/restore" tab), it would be super useful to be able to download all configurations for a running NPM instance (possibly with an option to omit administrator credentials) in one click, such that one could unpack (unzip? untar?) that backup, tweak configurations if necessary (e.g. edit hostnames here and there), repack and upload to another instance of NPM to either merge or override, for an instant backup/restore experience.

Describe alternatives you've considered

What everyone already does at the moment: backup at db/file system level.

Additional context

Not much else, except thanks for the wonderful tool. 🙏
