[@nativescript/google-signin] Google Sign In crashing after 8.5 migration

I have recently started migrating to NativeScript 8.5.0 and Angular 15.2.1. After the migration, some stuff broke, including the Google Signin plugin. Every time I try to Log in, this error appears:

An uncaught Exception occurred on "main" thread.

The code I'm using to Log in has been unchanged for a long time and it's the following:

Both of those console.log don't print anything atm, not sure why... I can't open devtools either.

Everything worked fine with the previous CLI version, Angular 14 and @nativescript/android@8.3.1

Start by reproducing the crash with the NativeScript 8.5.0, Angular 15.2.1, and @nativescript/android@8.3.1 setup described. Trace the GoogleSignin flow from authService.googleSignin() and the googleLogin() entry point into GoogleSignIn.kt around line 185, using the vendor.js stack trace as a reference. Done means Google sign-in completes without the reported NoSuchMethodError.
