Description

I am running this notebook. However, when I try to merge LoRA and model weights before exporting to TensorRTLLM (python /opt/NeMo/scripts/nlp_language_modeling/merge_lora_weights/merge.py). I received the following error:

Initializing distributed: GLOBAL_RANK: 0, MEMBER: 1/1

Research direction

Start with finetuning/Gemma/lora.ipynb and /opt/NeMo/scripts/nlp_language_modeling/merge_lora_weights/merge.py, then reproduce the single-node, single-GPU merge using the listed overrides. Investigate why distributed initialization tries to bind port 53747 when restoring the model. Done means the LoRA and model weights merge successfully for the reported setup without the socket error.
