@ddelpiano something I noticed while working on the EEG and Dipole plots is that even if the library fails to initialize the widget is set as initialized = true ; which makes sense because it's a widget property but it prevents the functionality of the widget to be run again (in this case calling getPlot) as updateWidget is being called in the plotMiddleware and not getPlot
