Research direction

Locate the existing nested-object retrieval logic and the environment-variable configuration in the JavaScript/Node.js debugger. Compare the requested MaxVariableRecurse behavior with Delve's semantics and inspect any existing retrieval tests. Done means nested objects can be retrieved to the configured depth without breaking current behavior.
